Class Rolls are marked by 9:15am. Any children arriving after 9.15 will need to go via the Front Office and sign in. They will be given a late slip to hand to their teacher. If you know your child will be absent at a future date you can email or write a note to your class teacher. If your child is sick please inform the Front Office by texting or leaving a voice message on the Curtin Primary Absence Phone: number 0437 787 824. Please note this is a safety measure, and for legal reasons you will still need to send a note. A written note is needed to explain any absence, to inform correct marking of the class rolls.
If you need to collect your child earlier than 3pm please also go via the front office and sign your child out.
After School Care and Before School Care
Woden Community Services run an After School Care Program. At the start of the school year the After School Care staff collects kindergarten students from their classrooms. Other students are expected to make their own way to After School Care. Leaflets for contacting After School Care are available in the Enrolment Pack or from the Front Office. Before School Care is also available through the same provider.
Curtin Primary is an allergy friendly school which requests that nuts and nut products are not brought onto the school grounds due to the inclusion of students with life threatening anaphylactic allergic conditions. Please support us and ensure your child does not bring food such as Nutella sandwiches, chocolate, peanut butter or muesli bars which contain nuts. We appreciate your support. General policy is that children do not share foods unless prior arrangements with staff are made.
Communication between school and home is highly valued. Parents are asked to make an appointment for any discussion with the Principal, Deputy Principal, Psychologist or teachers. An appointment will be arranged at the earliest possible time and attention will be given immediately to urgent issues.
Assemblies are held on odd week Fridays at 2.00pm, generally in the main school Hall. If there is a change of location it will be on the noticeboard in the foyer or in the newsletter. Whole school assemblies alternate with Junior or Senior Assemblies. Classes are rostered to lead the Assemblies and this will be advised on the term calendar. All parents are welcome to attend every assembly. Assembly awards will be presented. Students receiving awards are announced in the preceding Wednesday’s Curtin Courier.
